Aarti Israni

I am a first-year Ph.D student at the University of Michigan’s School of Information, advised by Prof. Tawanna Dillahunt and Prof. Nicole Ellison.

I am interested in how technology can better serve the social and cultural needs of individuals in low-income communities.

Prior to UMSI, I completed my Masters in Human-Computer Interaction at DePaul University in 2016, where I worked with Prof. Sheena Erete and Prof. Denise Nacu in the Technology for Social Good Lab. I received my B.S. from University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign in General Engineering in 2010.
